Sustainability scores
For the redevelopment of The Bank, Kroonenberg Groep decided to apply a highly sustainable approach for this monumental object. The key sustainable features include the fact that the location has a time-honoured track record and is easily accessible by public transport, as well as the fact that this involves an 80-year-old monument that is redeveloped.
In addition, numerous sustainable materials and installations are applied. The Bank is equipped with a cold and heat storage system for the air conditioning of the building, for instance, optimally insulating glass, daylight-dependent lighting and automatically operated sun blinds. As a result, The Bank is one of the most sustainable monumental objects in Amsterdam. For an objective rating of the level of sustainability, several calculations have been made and labels have been applied for, including the EPA-U label for energy efficiency. The Bank achieves a score of 0.69 in this respect, resulting in an A+ label.
