BOOKING.COM RELOCATES ITS HEAD OFFICE TO THE BANK Amsterdam – 9 February 2012 – On 9 February 2012, Booking.com was officially handed over the key of its new head office by the lessor and developer of the building, Kroonenberg Groep. Booking.com, the leading hotel reservations agency, is renting some 12,500 m² of office space in this beautifully refurbished building. Some 700 staff are also relocating to the new office from the old premises in the Weteringschans neighbourhood. This amounts to the largest office rental transaction in Amsterdam central city in the past five years. Booking.com, a subsidiary of the listed company Priceline (Nasdaq: PCLN), has occupied the conceptually designed offices on the ground, first, fourth and fifth floors and has its own entrance fronting onto Herengracht.
‘We are very happy that we can now move into The Bank and make the centre of the capital our new home,’ said Rutger Prakke of Booking.com before the move. ‘Looking at the other tenants in The Bank, it is clear we are in good company and the retail facilities in and near the building are excellent too.’
Kroonenberg Groep is extremely happy with their new tenant. Lesley Bamberger: ‘Now that Booking.com is established in The Bank, the building is practically fully let. This is the first time since ABN Amro bank left the building and it makes us very proud. The building now has a nice mix of tenants and it radiates precisely the kind of image we had in mind when we developed it.’
Marqt, Starbucks, Wagamama, George Deli USA, Vapiano and Ajax Experience all have retail outlets in The Bank and BNP Paribas and Guerrilla Games (a subsidiary of the Japanese company Sony PlayStation) preceded Booking.com in renting office space in the building.
