The opening of the new Marqt concept store, the third of the chain, in the commercial space of The Bank at 17 Utrechtsestraat on Wednesday, 24 March 2010, drew a large crowd.
Local residents and visitors were invited to have a drink and take a look inside. Many of them seized the opportunity to buy the groceries for the evening’s dinner. This latest Marqt store in The Bank has a very spacious layout and carries a range of a thousand additional products on over 1000 m2 of retail space. Apart from a wide range of non-perishables, there is an authentic pizza bakery, a large seafood department presenting fresh fish on ice tables, a well-stocked meat department, a bakery that bakes fresh bread four times a day, a wide variety of imported and domestic cheese types, an enlarged ready-to-eat department and lots of locally grown fruits and vegetables. This makes Marqt an excellent place to get daily groceries as well as to do your weekly shopping. Furthermore, the entire product range complies with the Real Food Marqt philosophy: food that tastes great, without any unnecessary additives, produced with respect for animal and human welfare and the environment. This sustainable, innovative shop concept is in perfect keeping with the qualities of The Bank.
