Since the beginning of 2012, the American Starbucks chain has a new branch in The Bank alongside Rembrandt Square in Amsterdam. After the Leidsestraat and Beethovenstraat, this will be Starbucks’ third and largest branch in Amsterdam. Starbucks will be moving into the completely renovated building at the Rembrandtplein-side of The Bank. Marqt, George Deli U.S.A., Wagamama and Ajax Experience preceded Starbucks in choosing The Bank as a location.
The Bank is a Kroonenberg Groep development project with 25,000 m² of office space and 7,000 m² of multifunctional space. The former office building of the Amsterdamsche Bank was in part restored to its former glory by re-opening the atrium, one of the most striking original characteristics of the building. After the renovation, it was granted an A+ sustainability label.
Cushman & Wakefield and HB Kroese Paternotte advised Kroonenberg Groep in this transaction. CB Richard Ellis represented Starbucks.
